FAQs

Why do you only sell to the certain countries?

Our products are available globally, however, due to existing carrier agreements, some orders cannot be processed online. If you reside in one of these countries and wish to purchase our products, please reach out to us by email through our contact page.

Why are your carriage charges to the USA and Canada so high as the item that I want cannot cost that much to ship to me?

For shipping to specific zones where you anticipate this might be necessary, please email us with your requirements so we can provide a more accurate calculation. However, be aware that such transactions will not be automated on our website, and we will require verbal confirmation of your card details.

I am interested in buying some of your products but cannot make my mind up before I see them. If I was to buy a few as samples what happens if they are not suitable and I want to return them?

Please return the items to us at your own expense via recorded delivery, as proof of postage is not accepted. We will then refund the full value of the returned items, minus the initial postage cost.

How can I see all of your handles or products grouped together?

Enter "handle" or specific keyword into the search box and you will get the complete list.

Will I be able to fit these handles myself?

We recommend consulting a qualified joiner, although fitting new handles is quite straightforward if you are replacing existing ones. However, if you are using un-sprung handles, you may need to upgrade your door's mechanism to prevent the handles from sagging.

What is a backset?

This is the measurement from the edge of the door to the centre of the handle.

What do you mean by centres?

This measurement refers to the distance between the centres of the two holes in the rose, which is the plate that secures the handle to the door.

What is a WC deadbolt?

This mechanism is akin to a latch but features a bolt that extends from the unit to secure the door. It is controlled by a snib turn and release mechanism, which we can provide alongside this deadbolt. The release includes an external slot, enabling the door to be unlocked from the outside using a coin or screwdriver, should someone accidentally lock themselves inside.

Why do you mention that door handles are sprung and un-sprung and what does this mean?

Today, you can find handles with built-in spring assistance, making them perfect for doors with an existing latch or lock when you want to install a new handle. Older latches or locks may lack a robust spring in the mechanism, potentially leading to handle droop when using lever handles without spring tension.

When purchasing a new mechanism and opting for one of our un-sprung lever handles, it is crucial to request that your supplier provides you with a mechanism that is strongly sprung, specifically designed for un-sprung furniture, to avoid future issues.

What soap should I use in your dispensers?

Heavy-duty pumps are not compatible with thick or granular soap. Generally, the more fluid the soap, the better it will function. If the soap is too thick, consider diluting it with water.

Do you supply glass or mirrors with your holders?

We do not provide glass or mirrors for these holders since we are unaware of your intended use; thus, we recommend that you obtain them locally and take note of the compatible glass thickness for these holders.

What do you mean by brushed stainless steel?

This is akin to satin stainless steel, which has a matt finish in contrast to the polished variety, often described as bright or mirror-like.

How weather proof is stainless steel?

Stainless steel is renowned for its resistance. The top-tier 316 marine quality stainless steel, as implied by its name, is utilized in boat construction and, as expected, exhibits excellent weathering resistance.

What do you mean by unlacquered brass?

Most polished brass items are coated with a clear protective lacquer to maintain their shine. However, our brass is unlacquered and will need frequent polishing with a specialized brass cleaner to prevent tarnishing over time.

To maintain the natural "living finish" of metal products, the use of traditional beeswax is highly recommended.

Why do you generally number your cabinet handles by their centres?

Many kitchen manufacturers adhere to standard measurements for pre-drilling cabinet door faces. We provide these dimensions so that you can easily find the appropriate handle if you decide to replace the existing ones and retrofit them with our products.

How do I clean various finishes?

In addition to supplying architectural hardware, interior, and bathroom accessories, we provide guidance on specific cleaning materials tailored to the finish you have chosen.

To maintain the natural "living finish" of metal products, the use of traditional beeswax is highly recommended.

For restoring shine and eliminating oxidation, a mild abrasive like Autosol metal polish is advisable.

Many specialist cleaners are available, but often, soapy water and a soft cloth will suffice for a good clean. Microfiber cloths are excellent for polishing, and it's important to avoid using abrasives, as they can damage the finish.

Additionally, it is crucial to avoid using industrial cleaners that can deposit residues on materials. Over time, these residues may create the illusion of rust, particularly on satin stainless steel. The cleaner leaves behind a thin layer that, when reacting with moisture, oxidizes and forms brown deposits resembling rust. These can be polished away, but if neglected for too long, removal becomes more difficult. Hence, regular maintenance is advised.
